baby boat, what to do?

Postby mitcheze » Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:49 pm

home game , blinds .25/.50.

im dealt [7s] [7c] on the button. couple limpers. LP raise to $2.50. I call as do 3 others.

FLOP $12.50
[Qs] [Th] [Tc]

checks around

TURN $12.50
[Qs] [Th] [Tc] [7h]

checks to me, i bet $10. Loose player check raises to $30. I move all in ($115 total). opponent has $60 left. He thinks about it and folds.

outcome: hero wins $52.50

I wasn't sure what he held. The only reads I had is that he was loose and played a lot of hands. how would you guys have played the turn?

Seems more than likely he was holding something like QJ, KQ.

I would have tried to milk the rest out of him.
You bet 10, he raised to 30, I would then raise to 50-60. A lot of times people would just go, ah what the heck lets for it, all-in... then you got him.

Vinny: Why are we stopped here? What's wrong with that spot?
Tyrone: It's too tight.
Vinny: Too tight? You could land a jumbo f*cking jet in that.

Ice you havent played in this home game. :D The reason I call here is that you are going to both be all in anyways if he has the 10, he is going to call your all in on the turn or the river. So either way if he fills up on the river your done. Two good reasons for just calling, if the Q ro 10 comes on the river you are in check fold mode. If he has a Q he is not going to call your all in, but being in postion you can still value bet the river and most likely get more money out of him.

I also think that he doesn't have a T. Your hand is well disguised, so he cannot put you on a full house. He must have a Q, checked the flop and thought no one has a T, then bet his top pair.

I would have probably played somewhat the same, maybe just reraise instead of all in. I would hope he had the T, and slowplayed it on the flop. The better play as I see it after the play, is to just call. You have position, so you should be able to extract more money on the river. If he bets about $30 on the river it you have a great chance to raise and get all his money.
