Vinny: Why are we stopped here? What's wrong with that spot?
Tyrone: It's too tight.
Vinny: Too tight? You could land a jumbo f*cking jet in that.

I was born in Boston, and lived most of my life 20 min from the Oakland Collisium so my reasons for hating the Yankees are evident. I have to say as a baseball fan I respect the Yankees and their hertage, but that doesnt keep me from rooting against them with every ounce of my being.

I actually have to disagree with Devil though, Giambi is the curse not Pay-Rod. The A's couldn't go anywhere in the play-offs with Giambi and now the torch has been passed. I'm not blinded my my hatred enough to think the Yankees wont win, this year. With their payroll being as big as the bottom 10 teams combined they will win, and if they dont they will go out and trade for another 100 million in payroll until they win. All that said watching the Yankees lose and that whiny little biatch Steinbrenner throwing tantrums like a 5 year old that didnt get his way is truely priceless.

I actually have some money riding on Wells, a friend of mine and I made a bet, I said wells would win 10 or more game, for $100. So I'm really hoping his injury is just a strain and he can keep pitching, though when you are that fat, and trying to pitch to big league hitters a little strain can be big problems. To make matters better for me the same friend and I made a bet he thinks the Sox will finish third or lower in the AL East, so I kind of feel like I'm free rolling the Wells bet.

Oh yeah and if you want one more reason that I hate the Yankees, looks at my Avatar, my dad grew up in Brooklyn and was a Dodgers than a Mets fan, and well, little boys tend to root for the same teams their fathers do.

Am I missing something? You two obviously know know nothing, the Cincinnatti Bengals are the best Basketball team there is, always have been, always will be.

So that's that.

The NL east is a pretty rough division too. I dunno if my mets can pull it off.

I'm glad the whitesox are ripping everyone a new one though :)

Well Arod won't be our demise nor will Giambi. Both have performed well in pinstripes. And about the money we spend, no other club complains when they get a check from the yankees because we went over payroll, or when every stadium we go to sells out. Anyone ever think of this,Steinbrenner is an awesome owner(rings=results), has not mismanaged our money, has done things to bring in income like start they yes network. Yes we have a large fan base, but so do many other teams. And ya know what, as long as you can spend what you want on your team, why not???? your telling me you wouldn"t??? really, give me one good reason. he puts the best product out onto the field that money can buy. he expects to win every year, there in no "rebuilding" years. we go for the gold every year. period. if it costs more then so be it.

Rhound, i agree with you . 100% i just get annoyed when people blame the yankees for spending 200 million when they should blame MLB for allowing the Yankees to spend 200million every year. In general baseballs popularity has gone down each year and i think will continue to dwindle. Baseball is a sport that is HUGE in a few markets and dead in all the rest.

Gee I wonder why the yankees have such a big fan base... could it be that NEW YORK CITY IS THE MOST POPULOUS IN THE COUNTRY?!? So how exactly is that fair? Look I will be the first to admit my team benefits from this grossly unfair system. But to claim it is not amazingly unbalanced is ludicrous. Baseball needs revenue sharing (not a salary cap, which killed pro-football).

Now as for Giambi and Slapp-rod producing in pinstripes... are you f*ing high? A-rod has been a complete bust. Yeah I know he hit 3 homers and drove in 10 last night. That is one fucking game. The guy can't win the big game. Get rid of him. I thank my lucky stars every day that the A-rod/Manny deal never happened. And that roid-head Giambi is so over the hill he can't even see it anymore. His career is done, and if the yankees could deal him, they would.

Steinbrenner had a good thing going with Cashman and Torre, arguably the best GM/M team in all of baseball. But he had to stick his big fat nose in things again, just he did in the 70's and 80's. He is the Jerry Jones of baseball... a meddling owner whose talent for building world class teams is only eclipsed by his proficiency in destroying them.
