I was born in Boston, and lived most of my life 20 min from the Oakland Collisium so my reasons for hating the Yankees are evident. I have to say as a baseball fan I respect the Yankees and their hertage, but that doesnt keep me from rooting against them with every ounce of my being.
I actually have to disagree with Devil though, Giambi is the curse not Pay-Rod. The A's couldn't go anywhere in the play-offs with Giambi and now the torch has been passed. I'm not blinded my my hatred enough to think the Yankees wont win, this year. With their payroll being as big as the bottom 10 teams combined they will win, and if they dont they will go out and trade for another 100 million in payroll until they win. All that said watching the Yankees lose and that whiny little biatch Steinbrenner throwing tantrums like a 5 year old that didnt get his way is truely priceless.
I actually have some money riding on Wells, a friend of mine and I made a bet, I said wells would win 10 or more game, for $100. So I'm really hoping his injury is just a strain and he can keep pitching, though when you are that fat, and trying to pitch to big league hitters a little strain can be big problems. To make matters better for me the same friend and I made a bet he thinks the Sox will finish third or lower in the AL East, so I kind of feel like I'm free rolling the Wells bet.
Oh yeah and if you want one more reason that I hate the Yankees, looks at my Avatar, my dad grew up in Brooklyn and was a Dodgers than a Mets fan, and well, little boys tend to root for the same teams their fathers do.
