Arod last year: 36 HR 106 RBI .286 Avg (low for arod) 172 hits .965 fieldiing % at a brand new position on a brand new team. and that was one of his worst years ever and look wehat he did.

Giambi:

2002: 34doubles 41HRs .314 avg .435 OBP 122 RBI 109BB

2003 25 doubles 41HRs .250 avg (low) but .412 OBP 107 RBI
129 BB

.995 fielding percentage both years

Yeah, sure they both suck. I know what i'm smoking but do you?
So lets look at over the hill giambi this year compared to your beloved manny ramirez shall we. And lets remember that giambi had a friggen tumor last year!!!

2005 Giambi/Ramirez HR 7/7 RBI 25/25 avg .310/.273 doubles 5/4
sluggin% .609/.623 OBP .355/.380

So by your assesment of Giambi Manny is also over the hill and would be traded if he could??????? Cmon, ya gotta get your facts straight!

I wouldn't knock Stienbrenner too much, How many rings have we won while he is at the helm, And how many have you won in say the past 80 years???
Vinny: Why are we stopped here? What's wrong with that spot?
Tyrone: It's too tight.
Vinny: Too tight? You could land a jumbo f*cking jet in that.

i don't know where the misconception that the yanks don't play like a team, or are only out for individual goals. Just not true, just becasue we have superstars doesn't mean we aren't a cohesive team. Our major downfall has been starting pitching, thats it, nothing more or less. And didn't we lead the league in comeback wins last year, i'm pretty sure we did. No one left arod out in the wind last year, they all defended him. Its just that yanks are conditioned to not give the media the sound bite they want. They are professionals.

I honestly think Giambi is going to have a really good year, back to where he was before last years TUmor and missing more then half the season. Watch the way he is taking at bats, it very 1999, 2000 Giamb likei. Giambi doesn't give the team a black eye, how many baseball players do you think used steroids? alot more then got involved in the balco scandle. Theres alot of guys in the majors that are using roids, probably at least one on each team.

Where I get that is watching them play. With the exception of Matsui 1-5 in that lineup is swinging for the fences when they come to bat trailing in a game. Just watch the cuts they take. You look at the difference between the way the yanks played from behind and the way the sox played from behind in the ALCS. I would also like to point out that we have been posting for two days now and this is the first time I have brought that up. Mighty sporting of me I think. Anyway, when the sox were behind they played small-ball, chipped away, scrapped, and tried to crawl back into it. The yanks were just a parade of long foul balls and flyball outs. This is direct result of building the most expensive and singularly talented team in history. Who on that team is ready to bunt? That is my point.
