As I told you before, Iceman, I am just a rookie. I have been reading from you (right here) for a few month. I have to agree with you that one should leave those pots behind. In this 4 month of playing, I´ve changed my ratings from Calling Station to Vanilla to TPA and now a StoneKiller (TAA).
Watching my PT stats, I was seeing 20-19% of flops (24.5 inshorthanded),, W$WSF at 37% and W$ at SD in 46%, and still I was losing money. The solution I knew it before seeing and analyzing my stats, I WAS CALLING TOO MANY HANDS LIKE THAT!
I dont know why so many great players like the ones who replied to this post dont see that, and push in situation like this. I think there is more PRIDE than cold THINKING. In NL$25 you have to protect your trips from the flush draw and, believe me, most of the time the best way is push with an overbet. I was reading the EV article and according to EV is better for you if the villain calls, given that your villain is going to hit about 32% of times, but there are many players like me who just hate to be outdrawn.
I, like Iceman, would put him in : "Ok, I called with J-Crap (or AJ, whatever) and the pot is already 20BB, that is good enough for this hand, I will go allin to take him out of the pot, dont want a lucky bastard to outdraw me" . I,, IMHO, would put him there and leave the pot with only a few BB less. I have started to win after I stop believing that everyone wanted to bluff me.
Maybe i will see thing different in the future, but I feel good I have Iceman to back my position. Or better said, That I agree with what Ice has stated.
My respect to all of you, Gurus.
