I'm pretty clueless when it comes to these things. So explain to me what exactly a wireless router is. I'm on dial-up still (yeah, been meaning to upgrade for the past three years), but I'm moving this month and am DEFINATELY getting cable before I do anything else. I assume this wireless router is just a way for you to get wireless highspeed internet access up to a certain range, and presumably works throughout the entire house.

Now as far as laptops go, I will need to buy one as well since I'll need one for college next year. That Dell Laptop that iceman keeps raving about sounds good, have you had any problems with it at all? I have a Dell Desktop that I've been using for a while now and I find it to be fairly reliable and haven't had too many problems.

MG, wireless router = your friend. Almost all college campus's have wireless internet available. To keep this a tech free as possible, you set up wireless network card and when you turn on your computer in and area that has wireless srevice you have internet acess. The reason I havent gotten one yet, well I have enough trouble staying awake in some of my class's and being able to play poker in class would be a bad thing for me. Second I sometimes have concentration issues when I play onlin, if I dont get cards for a while, I start to drift, so for me playing somewhere where there are more distractions would be bad for my game. It actually surprises me to hear that Kenny plays at a coffee shop, or at a friends house but I guess he has better oncentration than I do.

I have no problems whatsoever with the Dell.

The HP did have a bad battery and I had to have them send me a new one (no charge), but the Dell is problem free (knock on wood)
