Golden Riviera $20 NLHE 10 max ring game

Hero is UTG+2 [Td] [Ts]

UTG call $0.20
UTG+1 fold
Hero raise $0.80
MP1 call $0.80
MP2 call $0.80
CO fold
Button fold
SB call $0.70
BB fold
UTG call $0.60

Flop $3.95 [Th] [Ac] [5c]

SB checks
UTG checks
Hero bets $4
MP1 fold
MP2 fold
SB fold
UTG call $4

Turn $11.90 [4d]

UTG checks
Hero bets $9.60
UTG call $8.40
$1.20 returned to Hero

River $28.70 [8c]

UTG shows flush, clubs ( [Qc] [6c] )
UTG wins $28.70

I figured UTG for a draw when he called my flop bet. Should my bet on the flop have been larger than the pot? I feel in hindsight he would have called me down whatever.

You played it fine. Pot-sized bet on the flop is good, it looks normal and you're giving bad odds to draws. UTG is playing Q6s and made terrible calls on all streets.

A basic suggestion, especially on these low buy-in tables, is to limp w/ TT and play for a set against a big field, or alternatively make a bigger raise that folds trash hands like Q6s, and lets you take it down w/ a bet on a favorable flop against 1 or 2 callers.

I agree with layne, the same would be true of JJ and if the table is loose enough QQ also. Once you hit the set on the flop it's like you said, with that flush draw out there I don't think that he's folding to any bet. You got the money in when you were ahead and got outdrawn, it sucks but you played it as well as you could and you should make money off guys like him if you keep it up.

There is just going to be a lot of variance at th level of stakes you're playing which is the reason to do things like layne suggested. Sure if you raise much bigger you still might get some idiot calling with trash, but at least then you don't have 3-4 trash hands you have to dodge to pick up the pot, and on the other side if there's already a bunch of people in and you limp you get in cheap and either hit a very strong hand to race a chaser with, or get off cheap if you hit nothing and there's till a lot of action.
