Where to maximize Stars FFPs

Postby cat923 » Fri May 06, 2005 1:15 am

I just maximized Stars bonus of $120 and started to try to clear it. It requires 600 FFPs to clear.

At Stars one FFP=$1 in rake or a $20 pot.

I generally play NLHE $25 or $50. I multiplayed 2 tables of $50 tonight for about 45 minutes and earned 14 FFPs while winning about $25.

At a rate of about 10 per hour per $50 table it will require 30 hours to clear the bonus.

I have played the $100 NL before, but have found them a little rich for me. I tighten up at that level and play only one table.

I do not play limit HE. i do not understand that game.

Any suggestions which levels of NL should maximize the FFPs and still stay within my comfort zone?

I know you said you didn't like the 100NL game, but that's what I'm playing to clear the bonus, and I've cleared 40 points 2-tabling the 100NL in an hour, and am up about $50... To be honest, I don't see a giant jump from the 50NL to the 100NL... they seem like the same fools to me...

Bonus whores has a section on each site that tells how fast the bonus clears. Obviously it's going to depend on how big the pots are at your table, but you can get an idea of how fast they clear relative to each other. It may make sense to play at a particular level simply because it's easier for you to multitable it. (Personally I always switch to limit to clear bonuses because I'm comfortable with 3 or 4 tables of it).

I don't think it's a good idea to go outside of one's bankroll/comfort zone to clear a bonus. Bonus money isn't so great if you lose money chasing it.
