Thanks Excession. Just one idea regarding your auto rate rules. The .01 minimum for aggression? I play at the low limits and have a few players rated who have played over 100 hands and never raised after the flop. One player in particular I have logged for over 300 hands and all he has done is go all in with AA and KK. Not one other bet. The really scary thing is that he is a winning player on PT (keeps getting callers). The trouble is with your autorate he shows up as a default icon when I want him to show up as "lookout bigtime when I bet".
Just a thought.

sure he will be rated neutral/unknown

but you will be able to see his actual PFA rating on the screen ahead of you so you should be able to recognise such a player - 100+ hands with zero PFA has to be very rare

the alterntaive is to rate everyone who hasn't bet or raised yet passive - not a huge leap but one that might mean a lot of players are first rated passive whn in fact they aren't

i will run some stats to see which way round is best .. thanx

Great article once again Excession!

I've already used the different versions of the new rules for a little while, but haven't really delved into them as I was awaiting your explanations for the modificaitons. Now I can't wait to start playing as I think the new rules are a great improvement from the previous ones.

Also thanks to aperfect10 for his contributions, great job guys!

As a sidenote, this has probably been asked tirelessly but I haven't found any answer yet. Why has there not been implented more catagories in PT? I can't imagine any downside to this, and would think it rather easy for Pat to implement. Also I think there should be a possibility to import icons to PT. Which I can't imagine to be very difficullt either.

I reckon Pat knows excessions work with PT quite well as his articles is stickyed on the PT forums, so maybe a request from excession would carry some weight behind it? Care to try?

I have used the new Autorate rules very successfully for the past 10 days. Thanks for all of the work you did on them.

I have one question. Could you give me a definition of a showdown muppet?

Thanks again,
