I dont see why you changed what was working for you in the first place. Every poker player goes into slumps, even the best players on this site have gone on frusterating losing streaks. As for me when I go into a slump, I play tighter not looser. I would go back to playing solid poker, like you were before. By playing more hands and trying to trap more you are going to incease your variance, when things arent going well this seems like a bad idea to me.

I had a consistent losing streak last winter, I couldn't win with the flop or turn nuts to save my arse, nothing I did seemed to work out. Poker is tough like that, and there isn't a situation that is likely to happen in capped buy in NL to ever lay down the current nuts. Mine finally broke after I lost three hands in two days for all the money as 97% favorite.

I switched to playing sit-n-gos, I dropped in limits, played some multis, pretty much everything I could to avoid playing a cash game above a $100 buy in, I even took about three weeks in breaks.

I am still rebuilding, slowly working my way back up in games and hating having to go thru the process of bankroll building again, but liking playing a smaller game with much more knowledge than last time I was down here.

Tighten it down, play ABC poker, make rational decisions when all the money goes in the middle. Get back to the basics of winning play before getting cute with medium pairs and connectors, beat your opponents with strength of hand instead of clever bets.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been playing consistently for quite a while now and began building up a pretty respectable bankroll...I was consistently making at least a buy in a day at the 100NL tables and the 50NL tables on UB..I kept playing and BOOM all of the sudden I'm losing money ... a buy-in here another there...no big deal, some tough beats will do that. I kept losing...So I figured I was plateau-ing and started opening up my starting requirements trying to steal more often and be a little trickier...I found that trapping with anything but the nuts is a quick way to lose your bankroll...I have learned some good lessons, but I till feel like I'm on the longest tilt session in history...Any Ideas...I slowed down, i haven't been playing nearly as often I figure taking a step back and relaxing for a while cant hurt. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Your thinking on starting hand requirements is backwards. When you are running bad you should tighten up as opposed to loosening up. As far as trapping goes...there are not many reasons to trap when you are up against the typical loose online NL player. I will generally trap if i have a hand that is pretty much unbeatable on the flop, like a full house. Slow playing straights is a bad idea because the turn card can give someone a flush draw or a higher straight draw. Let these novice players hang themselves.

i lost more than i ever had in day yesterday.. all my high pps were getting cracked like walnuts, but after every losing streak i seem to find a winning streak... sooo just take a break for a few days, read a good poker book and i would suggest playing a bit tighter for a while like the dude up there said
