K3nt. You are probably looking for more than just some hands where one or more players misplayed their hands badly. That post wasn’t very helpful.

Yes there are bad players. Yes some players call raises with A-rag and commits most their chips with a pair of aces. Yes some players loose their with TPTK. Others players make stupid bluffs and some players just play too many hands etc.

But there are also good players. Who knows when to fold aces etc. You often hear about the hands like the one I posted above (or the 10/20 hand mg posted) because that’s the interesting/funny hands.
But in most hands no players make (big) mistakes and there is no money to be won. Almost all the big pots I win, I win because another player made a mistake. And that’s what makes it profitable but it doesn't happen every hand.

I always enjoy reading your thoughts on a hand and I think you have the ability to play at the same limits as I do. But if you move up do it slow. I think it’s important to move up one limit at a time and become comfortable at that limit before moving to the next.

k3nt... yes. there are some good players at higher limits, there are certainly those at 2/4 that i watch out for. but there's still some amazingly, disguestingly, awful players. Here's an example from yesterday.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (9 handed)

Button ($132)
SB ($89)
BB ($49.15)
UTG ($213.60)
UTG+1 ($396)
MP1 ($406.10)
MP2 ($132.60)
Hero ($460.85)
CO ($160.10)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with [Ad], [Ks].
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $12, 2 folds, Hero calls $12, 2 folds, SB calls $10, BB raises to $49.15, UTG+1 calls $37.15, Hero calls $37.15, SB folds.

Flop: ($159.45) [7d], [As], [9d] (3 players)
UTG+1 bets $32, Hero raises to $112, UTG+1 calls $80.

Turn: ($383.45) [5s] (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $150, UTG+1 calls $150.

River: ($683.45) [4h] (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $104, UTG+1 calls $84.85 (All-In).

Final Pot: $872.30

Results in white below:
BB has Td Th (one pair, tens).
UTG+1 has Jh Ac (one pair, aces).
Hero has Ad Ks (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins $872.30.

K3nt

ABC play is vital to play the higher limits of course...but a little deception is nice too.

I may have overstated the ABC aspect of it all..but the main thing, is that most of the players really do suck. I'm not saying that everyone is a calling station or a fish...but I'm confident enough to think I can beat 99% of them any given day.

Even the "decent/good" players make too many mistakes from what I see. I take pride in the fact that I make less mistakes then everyone else on the table.

This whole post sounded really arrogant. I don't care. :)

i try to vary my game but i consider myself an abc player. i play 1/2 stakes, 3 tables at a time, no note taking and surf the web at the same time while playing my straight forward game and i make anywhere from .5-1.5 buy-ins per day. the players at bodog seem to be a bit fishier than other sites though.

I have been playing TAA-sLAA- and ABC and all these styles are good to win. we are talking about the crazy Party and Prima network. I havent played at US, Stars or Full Tilt where, people say, there are very tight-solid players. In my case I feel very good with TAA, but I can tell you that loosening up a little can get people to call you even more because they get a little scare from the bets and reraise of the TAA player ( they do have a brain, even if it´s hard to believe, they do). That could be a great advantage, though.

I could tell that you can win with any style, just need to be clear when to push and when to let go. That is what I have seen in my short poker life....

I just started to win about 2 month ago (very consistent though), so take this comment for what is worth. If anyone here says I am somehow wrong, dont doubt it! I am.

>There arent as many guys like this at higher levels but there are enough of them to make a steady profit but play ABC.

I've seen a number of ABC poker strategies. Currently, I mostly use what excession has posted but would love to see your advice on this.
