Even money play for a lot of money. I don't see anything overly wrong with it especially if you are unwilling to lay down a set to these guys all in now is better than all in later, as a paired board may slow someone down, and if you got to get the river putting the pressure on a drawing hand is the better play. I'm willing to make a few of these plays but try not to get carried away.

One of the few instances i would fold the set. Not only are you losing to a straight...there's got to be a good chance of you losing to a higher set.

I think I actually have to agree with Kenny here. If there was a time I could get away from a set this would be it. 2 all ins in front of you either have very strong draws or made hands that are beating you and you don't have odds to chase that boat.

Thanks for the responses, After the play I realized that there WAS a good chance of a higher set, and in retrospect I agree it was a -EV play. My whole reason for pushing was the possibility of the FH, and the large pot was calling my name

The hand came after about a 2 hr session of very few decent hands, and I finally flop a set to that board.... My usual play is pretty tight, but im sure that played a part in my play.

Thanks for this thread

Thank u all for this great thread, which will help me to adjust and improve my game.

First as i read Jeffs post, i was with him, seeing the big pot and the full house, and i am pretty sure , that i would have done the same in this situation.

But after i read all the comments with more objective analysis , now i know , i would have played this totally wrong.
I often run into the situation flopping a set with scary straight draws.
I will be prepared, not to fall into this trap.
