Should I have seen this coming?

Postby Magz » Fri May 13, 2005 4:19 pm

This is my first post here so please be gentle ;!

30min at the table, had been playing pretty reckless since I had a good day irl and a couple of JD shots to go with that.
Had no good read on anyone since I thought they played pretty much anything.

The villain here were one of the few I gave any credit. I figured he thought I was loose and pretty crappy. ( wich I propably was=))

(is there a better way to post prima hands here?)

AA, KK, QQ, AQ or AK of hearts. You needed to fold.

KQ is a crap hand too...I don't recommend playing it to a raise.

reflections

Postby Magz » Fri May 13, 2005 5:59 pm

I knew when I sat down to play that that was the biggest mistake right there=) still I had to..

Well what can I say, Ive had an exceptionally good day irl, and felt invunerable, looking back now 2h later, Im not quite sure how I could like a pair of queens like that.

My wife just told me: Do you remember that game we saw on tv when that guy had a pair of queens and called a big raise, and called again on the river, how you sat and screamed "how can he be so stupid to call that, how can he not realize that he's beat!!!"

The other guy actually had KK

What can I say ;D

First off, that hand history format is really hard to follow. If the converter doesn't work, I think its better to just post it manually (meaning "I limp in ep with KQ, folds to BB who raises to $3, ect"

I agree with kenny that you shouldn't play for a raise but fold it in ep and don't even try to limp. Once in the hand, I like your raise on the flop but you ignored the information he gave you when he reraised you. What hands are you beating here? QJ? QT, JJ, TT? These hands wouldn't play like this unless he was a total loose cannon so fold it there. Good sized raise though. Besides, if you are gonna call that raise, you should go all in for the other $13 which shouldn't matter in this hand.

Keep at it and keep posting hands.

KQ is the most overplayed hand in poker, and a hand I hate. I would much rather be playing suited gappers or unsuited connectors in a multiway pot any day. Unless you flop a boat, trips or srt8, you dont like you hand that much with KQ, to many ways to be dominated.
