Alex, I would say no, its not a good move, because if that play happened to me, I would've checked the river too... I probably wouldn't have bet with anything less than a boat, and he would've pissed away some money... If he led w/ a valuebet, he had a better shot of getting any money out of me...

I very seldom see anyone check the river w/ a monster...

I just checked the hand history. This moron had [Ah][Jh].

The flop was [9s][6s][5d]. He bet that flop and called my sizable raise.
The turn was the [5h]. he bet again and called another healthy raise.

If this didnt happen during the daytime I would say he was drunk. Maybe he would call my all in with ace high?

lmao

Check this one out (from my 2/5 game):

Same guy who took my stack with his deuces raises to $30 with, as it turns out, AK. AQ (guy who bitches about my coming in on the blind) calls. Raggedy flop and lots of action between these two--both unimproved.

Finally, on the river, AQ (still unimproved, as is AK) puts his entire remaining stack of $300 out there. And... AK calls!!!! This is a $1,000 pot that AK takes down unimproved. I will say this, AK kid is a damn good reader! He said, "I knew he didn't have a pair."

Well, what can I say? He was right. I wouldn't do it, but it was the pot of the night!

Instead of a good hand reader...you'll be calling him a calling station the next 5 times he does that and loses.
