Blizzard is well-known for making the majority of their games playable on pretty old computers. You might need to tone down the graphics a bit in config, but there will likely be a way for SC2 to play smoothly on most computers.
No known release date. Blizzard's official words were something like "as long as it takes to make a quality balanced game".

Our rabbi would record our Torah portions for our Bar Mitzvah's on tape. We were supposed to listen to them every night and practice for a half hour a day.
When he noticed that I wasn't making much progress he asked me if I was listening to the tape every day. I told him that I just sort of threw it on while I played Starcraft. Firebats remind me of hebrew.
