$25nl rockets and 3 crazy crazy opponents

Postby laynegt » Mon May 23, 2005 11:44 am

So I'm playing my normal $25nl on UB this weekend, and I get on this crazy table w/ 3 super loose guys w/ huge stacks. I was a bit of a card rack at this table; I have shown down 3 monsters (quad 7s, AA, KK) in 45 minutes time and little else, all three times in hands against crazybb and/or crazyutg.

This had the potential to be by far the biggest pot I've ever played, so my head was spinning a little. I'm curious what others think of my play on the flop here.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (10 handed)

crazybb ($70.65) - stupid aggressive, plays junk and like we're 4 handed at a wpt final table
crazyutg ($90.30) - what i call social aggressive, plays marginal hands, not very observant
crazymp ($112.95) - seems ok, just is in every pot
Hero ($78.10)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Ac], [Ad].
crazyutg raises to $0.5, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls $0.50, 2 folds, crazymp3 calls $0.50, 2 folds, Hero raises to $3.1, crazybb calls $2.85, crazyutg calls $2.60, UTG+2 folds, crazymp calls $2.60.

um, I guess I should've raised more. oh well, i've got rockets, let's see what happens.

Flop: ($12.90) [6s], [6c], [9s] (4 players)
Hero checks, crazybb checks, crazyutg bets $10, MP3 folds, Hero??

ok, I checked b/c I didn't want to bet pot, have it go call call call and be totally lost. I guess I'm going for some kind of checkraise. Now when it gets to crazymp, he and crazyutg get in a little discussion...crazyutg claims he has an overpair; and he's announced his hands a couple times before and told the truth...thankfully crazymp folds (I'm not sure what I would've done if he raised besides pee in my pants) and it's back to me...I believe he has an overpair but I don't totally disregard 99 or a 6...now do I raise to try to take the pot down, say to like ~$40; or maybe raise a little less, to fold crazybb in case he has a draw and maybe keep crazyutg around, say to ~$30; or smooth call considering I likely have crazyutg crushed, and hope crazybb gets the message and folds anyway?

Results in white below:
I checkraised to pot, $42, not really thinking about the subtleties I described above. After I raised that much, I kind of thought it was a mistake b/c again, I thought he had to fold and I had him crushed...but he went all-in, I called. He had TT for perhaps the most clueless all-in i've ever seen and I dragged a monster pot. Ok, yes half the purpose of this post was to brag, but really I am curious about the flop play...

You're the PF raiser, you almost have to throw out a bet there... What if it goes check all the way around, and a spade or 7/8 hits the turn...? You're hand would've been getting worse and worse the longer you play... I probably would've bet the pot, and pushed his raise... You're probably up against a big pair, and if he has pocket 9s, you're probably gonna lose most of it anyway...
