Postby MBuckler » Tue May 24, 2005 9:57 pm

so i recently cracked $500 on stars and have started playing the $50 tables
im getting pretty comfortable at this level and im happy that, thus far, the play seems to be better.
ANYWAY
these two hands are from my most recent session and im looking for feedback from you guys
Hand 1:
I have a full stack, my opponent has me covered
i get [Th][5s] in the BB
two limps to the button who limps, SB completes, i check
Flop: 5 players, pot is $2.50
[6d][5c][Tc]
SB checks, i bet $2.50
button calls
Turn: 2 players, pot is $7.50
[Ah]
i lead out for $6, button min raises to $12, EDIT (i had seen this player make this move with 2nd pair before) i call
River: 2 players, pot is $31.50
[4h]
i check, button bets $10, i call
results in white
i show 2 pair Ts and 5s, button mucks A8c
i drag final pot of $49.05

Hand 2:
i have a full stack and 2 of my opponets have me covered
i get [7s][8s] in the CO
utg min raises to $1, two callers to me, i call, BB calls
Flop: 5 players, pot is $5.25
[4s][Ts][Qd]
BB leads out for $2.50, 3 calls to me, i call
Turn: 5players, pot is $17.75
[7c]
checks to the guy in front of me who bets $5,
i call along with the BB and one other
River: 4 players, pot is $37.75
[8c]
checks to me, i bet $20 and get called in one spot
results in white
i show two pair 7s and 8s, caller mucks AdQc
i drag final pot of $74.75 (new record for biggest pot for me), kinda disappointed bc. i think i coulda got him to double me up

any and all feed back is more than welcome

hand 1: since it's an unraised pot, you could be up against a bunch of different hands. I think your line is fine as it probably wins the most when ahead, but loses the least when behind.

hand 2: You'll have to make up your mind if you want to sell your hand, or double up. Given the betting, I don't expect anyone to call a big bet from you. Betting 1/4 pot into 3 people on the turn isn't exactly a showcase of strength. On the other hand, if you think someone has a Q and will pay you off, bet the pot or 3/4 of it.

note: don't post results with your hands, it makes it difficult to review objectively.

I would have raised the turn on hand #2. good aggressive play will win you pots...especially when you have outs to cover yourself.
