Here are a couple hands from this weekend

Hand 1 ***************************

I found the dream table. Everyone at this table had a VPIP of over 40%, with a couple in the 60-70 range. So I was playing a lot of these speculative hands cause I know I can get paid off if I hit big. The UTG donk min-bets PF, then min-Raises. Hmm, I wonder what he has?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

Hero (SB): $139.75
BB: $24.80
UTG: $102.15
MP: $138.15
CO: $30.50
BTN: $20.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt [6d] [8d] (6 Players)
UTG raises to $2.00, MP raises to $3.00, CO calls $3.00, BTN folds, Hero calls $2.50, BB folds, UTG raises to $5.00, MP folds, CO calls $2.00, Hero calls $2.00

Flop: ($19) [8s] [Qc] [6s] (3 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $9.00, CO raises all-in to $25.50, Hero calls $25.50, UTG raises to $42.00, Hero raises all-in to $134.75, UTG calls all-in for $55.15
Uncalled bet of $37.60 returned to Hero

Turn: ($238.80) [8h] (3 Players - 3 All-In)

River: ($238.80) [7c] (3 Players - 3 All-In)

Pot Size: $238.80 ($3 Rake)

CO had [Qs] [Ts] (two pair, Queens and Eights) and LOST (-$30.50)
UTG had [Ac] [Ad] (two pair, Aces and Eights) and LOST (-$102.15)
Hero had [6d] [8d] (a full house, Eights full of Sixes) and WON (+$133.65)

I think I played this hand good against the donks. I flat called the shorties all-in because I knew what UTG had. I figured the shortie to have a flush draw, but I got UTG in, so it created an even larger side pot.

Hand 2 *********************************

Not sure what villain is doing here. I min-raised the turn, cause I put him on a Q, and I figured we'd get it all-in if he has a Q. Little did I know he had TT, lol

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

SB: $99.00
BB: $104.80
UTG: $79.05
Hero (MP): $130.15
CO: $19.80
BTN: $108.45

Preflop: Hero is dealt [4d] [4s] (6 Players)
UTG calls $1.00, Hero raises to $4.50, 3 folds, BB calls $3.50, UTG calls $3.50

Flop: ($14) [4h] [Qd] [Qc] (3 Players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $9.00, BB calls $9.00, UTG folds

Turn: ($32) [5c] (2 Players)
BB bets $16.00, Hero raises to $32.00, BB raises all-in to $91.30, Hero calls $59.30

River: ($214.60) [4c] (2 Players - 1 All-In)

Pot Size: $214.60 ($3 Rake)

BB had [Th] [Td] (two pair, Queens and Tens) and LOST (-$104.80)
Hero had [4d] [4s] (four of a kind, Fours) and WON (+$106.80)

Hand 3 *********************************

I finally hit one of my draws here. My PF call is marginal, but I have position, and I like to do this every once in a while.

I was getting right around the right price to call his push, sio I called

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

SB: $80.00
BB: $171.55
UTG: $98.50
MP: $48.80
CO: $101.75
Hero (BTN): $100.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt [8h] [5h] (6 Players)
2 folds, CO raises to $3.50, Hero calls $3.50, 2 folds

Flop: ($8.50) [Jh] [6h] [3c] (2 Players)
CO bets $6.00, Hero raises to $20.00, CO raises all-in to $98.25, Hero calls all-in for $76.50
Uncalled bet of $1.75 returned to CO

Turn: ($201.50) [8c] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

River: ($201.50) [Ah] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $201.50 ($3 Rake)

CO had [Jc] [As] (two pair, Aces and Jacks) and LOST (-$100.00)
Hero had [8h] [5h] (a flush, Ace high) and WON (+$98.50)

Cheers

This month marks my 2 year anniversary playing online poker. So I thought I'd write up a little post detailing the poker history of a 31 yr old Enginner with a wife, two kids, a mortgage who plays online poker 20-40 hours a month.

First graph is my total bankroll since Nov of 2005. My first couple months, I played limit Hold 'em and small SNGs. Then I discovered Bonus hunting in Sept 2005, and a little bit later, left limit for good, and moved to No Limit. I haven't played a hand of limit hold 'em in over a year and a half.

Image

This next graph is just my poker profits. Notice that I've made over $9000 in bonuses in my online poker career. Too bad bonus hunting has completely dried up for Americans.

Image

Some people will see that I am still playing 100NL after 14 months and think I must suck or something. I'm sure I could be playing 400NL or 600NL, but I feel comfortable playing 100NL (with some 200NL thrown in there). I've never really strived to be a high stakes online poker player. I do it for fun, and to make some extra spending money. I've averaged $1000 a month for the last year and a half. I'm happy with that :)

I think I have accomplished a lot in the last two years. I am definitely a better poker player. I look back at some of the hands I've posted in the past and laugh. Hopefully online poker will still be here for the next couple years. I like having a hobby where I can make money instead of spend it

Cheers!

Here is a hand from a couple days ago. Villain is a donk, and the reason I am at this table. I have him labeled as a Loose/Passive Calling station. I have been involved in two hands with him already where he called me to the river, and then folded to my river bet, so he must have been on some kind of draw

But he raises me on the turn here. First time he has raised me in any of the hands we have been involved in (WHich has only been 3 or 4 up to this point.

What to do?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

SB: $99.00
BB: $52.55
UTG: $95.00
Hero (MP): $158.00
CO: $194.70
BTN: $86.75

Preflop: Hero is dealt [Qs] [Qc] (6 Players)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $3.50, CO calls $3.50, 2 folds, BB calls $2.50

Flop: ($11) [Jh] [3c] [8c] (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $9.00, CO calls $9.00, BB calls $9.00

Turn: ($38) [5h] (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $25.00, CO raises to $75.00, BB folds,

Hero ???

Thanks

Suckout city

The last week or so has consisted of two really good days, followed by two crappy days. The last two days have been pretty bad. I cant hit for shit, and I am getting sucked out constantly. Yesterday, I got AK and AQ a total of 17 times where I saw a flop. I hit an A, K (or Q if I had AQ) a total of 3 times. 43 pairs, and only 3 sets (with of course one losing to a hit gutshot).

I did play some tournaments last night. I cashed in two, the $10 rebuy at Stars, and the $10 rebuy at Full Tilt. I went out in the Stars about 50 people after the bubble burst. I pushed in the cutoff with A4o (I had about 8 BBs left) and some clown in the BB called off a third of his stack with 65o and of course won.

I also played in PokerStars 10 PM EST $15+1.5. I went out with about a third of the way through. Blinds are 25/50 and I find AA in middle position (my stack is 1760). There were two limpers and I bump it to 300. the BB and one of the limpers called. Flop was T32 rainbow. Pot is at about 1000, and the limper leads out for 300. I triple his raise, and he pushes and I obviously call. He has 62o. And the river is a 6. gg me.

I also made it deep in the 26k guarenteed busting out just before the bubble. I had some very loose donk sitting right behind me, and he called my push of AKs with 87o and won. There was a raise in front of me, and I pushed with an M of around 10, and this guy calls with 87o, lol.

All that time playing MTTs, and I profitted a whopping $25. Not sure why I bother tournaments anymore (Don't I always say this?)

Cheers

Lat two days I've put in some pretty long sessions (for me anyhow).

1813 hands:
Dealt AA once
Dealt KK 9 times. 7 of those times I've won PF
Dealt AKs 4 times
65 pairs that have seen a flop: 6 sets

+$400

Not sure how I've managed to win that much with being so card dead.

Well, about a half an hour after I posted my " I never get aces" rant, this hand happens. At a 200NL table no less. Do you agree that this is probably the best line for Aces when there is a Raise, and the a 3-bet before you? I would think anything other that a push screems Aces, but a push could mean AK, or even JJ-QQ, right?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

Hero (SB): $220.05
BB: $227.80
UTG: $175.05
MP: $198.10
CO: $195.00
BTN: $39.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt [Ad] [As] (6 Players)
UTG calls $2.00, MP raises to $9.00, CO raises to $32.00, BTN folds, Hero raises all-in to $220.05, 3 folds, CO calls all-in for $163.00
Uncalled bet of $25.05 returned to Hero

Flop: ($403) [3h] [4s] [Tc] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Turn: ($403) [2d] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

River: ($403) [6d] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $403.00 ($3 Rake)

CO had [Ks] [Kc] (a pair of Kings) and LOST (-$195.00)
Hero had [Ad] [As] (a pair of Aces) and WON (+$205.00)

**********************************************

July has started out great so far. Up a grand already after 5 days *knocks on wood* I've been putting in more hands at 200NL. I think my roll can support it now. I have about 35 buy-ins at 200NL online (Though $1000 of that is stuck at Prima, which I haven't played at for a few months).

Here is my July graph so far.

I passed a pretty big milestone this weekend. I have now profitted $20,000 from online poker.

July has been going really good. I'm up almost $1500 for the month. Considering that my best month over is at +2100, I'm doing pretty good. I'll post some interesting hands later on.

Cheers!

SB had [Qs] [As] (a pair of Sevens) and LOST (-$96.50)
Hero had [Jc] [Jd] (a full house, Jacks full of Sevens) and WON (+$113.35)

You don't see many complete/re-raises from the SB. No way he has QQ+.

**********************************************

This table was super loose. LOL @ what villain had. I figured he had a high club + a pair.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 5 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

Hero had [7d] [7h] (three of a kind, Sevens) and WON (+$103.00)

*******************************

Very Very marginal, if not outright bad, but I figured I had the implied odds to draw to my 8 outer here, especially with the SB still in the hand

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

SB: $23.55

Hero had [7s] [9c] (a straight, Ten high) and WON (+$80.00)

****************************

 against a 59/1 donk

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

SB: $125.50
BB: $103.00

Flop: ($8.50) [4d] [Jc] [5c] (2 Players)

Hero had [Kc] [Kd] (a pair of Kings) and LOST (-$24.50)

*******************************

And finally against a super donk (running at 76/7). I got to remember that turn min-raises are usually monsters, but I had two pair dammit! I thought for sure the super donk was bluffing after his huge river bet. uggg.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)

Hero (SB): $126.25
BB: $102.80

CO: $46.00
BTN: $276.20

CO posts $1.00
Preflop: Hero is dealt [5d] [8d] (6 Players)
2 folds, CO checks, BTN calls $1.00, Hero calls $0.50, BB checks

Do people here like it better when hands are posted like this, or when they are posted over at pokerhand.org?

"Not hitting for $hit" Tilt is my worst tilt. I'll start playing alot more loose and 3-betting more when I am on that tilt.

Anyways, I gained one of those buy-ins back from a couple really short sessions last night and this morning.

The only interesting hand is this one.

It gets down to 4 handed, and I raise [Qc] [9c] on the button. The loose half stack donk calls in the BB (He started the hand with around $80). Flop is [7h] [2s] [7c]. He checks, and I throw out a standard continuation bet, and he calls (He calls about 50% of ccontinuation bets).

Turn is [Kc] giving me now a flush draw. He checks, and I have to decide weather to check behind and take the free card or bet out. Villain has exactly the amount left in his stack that is already in the pot, so if I bet, it will be an all-in bet.

Usually I just check behind here, but I think that is really week. If I just check, I basically just have my 12 outs to improve (I don't put him on a K or a 7, I think he has a 2, a small pair like 44, or A-rag). But if I bet, I still have those outs plus I have fold equity.

So I ended up putting him all-in, and he took forever and finally folded.
