Good move vs the Heroic Caller?

Postby briachek » Thu May 26, 2005 11:04 am

This guy was loose and not too aggressive but liked to make calls. I wasn't too worried he had aces. Was this a good move against him?

UTG+1 ($21.15)

2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, 3 folds, Button calls $0.50, SB raises to $2, Hero raises to $58.2 (All-In), MP1 folds, Button folds, SB calls $41.50 (All-In).

When is it ever bad to get the money in as a huge favorite? I wish I could find players like this.

The board looks like a nightmare for you though, so I almost expect to see that the result was you lost the pot this time. I wouldn't be worried about it though. If you got him to call all-in with his pocket TT or what have you against KK then you can start planning your retirement.

I don't mind playing flops, especially against this guy but since I felt there was a good chance he would call my all in, I decided that it could be a very good play. I guess it looked like an AK play or something like TT since he called.
