My biggest pot ever on a dream hand

Postby Stapher » Sat May 28, 2005 5:56 pm

I'm on a 10-25 NL table on UB, 2500 buy-in. I've been at the table for awhile and I'm up 520. The players have been pretty tight since I joined. I get AJ of spades in the 5th seat. Seat 4 limps and I raise it to 115, button and seat 4 guy call, everyone else folds. Flop comes 953 all spades. WOOHOOO!!! Seat 4 checks and I lead out for 275. The button raised to 675 and to my suprise seat 4 moves all-in for all his stack, around 2800. I go all in behind him and the button says "Well I guess I have to call" and throws his remainng 2000 in. Turns out seat 4 has 55 and the button has 99, both flopping trips. My nut flush holds up and I take down a pot just over 8000 bucks. My wife said I screamed so loud that I scared the crap out of her and my sis-in-law. LOL oh well it was worth it.
If you don't fold the best hand every once in awhile, you're probably not playing your best poker
