Absolute Poker Bad Beat Jackpot Hit for $465,000
Bad Beat 'Victim' Won $163,000

Well, that didn’t take long. A little more than six hours after Card Player reported on the Absolute Poker Bad Beat Jackpot reaching epic proportions, the jackpot was hit. CALVINHOBBES claimed the largest chunk of the almost $465,000 jackpot when his quad aces were snuffed by JAKETTE's royal flush. CALVINHOBBES won a huge $163,000 payday for his “misfortune.” JAKETTE earned $81,000 for winning the hand and the remaining players at the table split $81,000.

The jackpot was then reseeded at $92,930 and is already back up to $105,000 as of this article’s publication.

To qualify for the jackpot, players need to be playing at one of the jackpot-specific tables. The lowest stakes for no-limit hold’em tables are 50¢-$1 and for limit hold’em they are $1-$2. Once at one of those tables, a qualifying hand must be played wherein quad eights or better, with both hole cards being used, are beaten. (The winning hand must also use both hole cards.)
