to add on to ices last comment, if you're raising these non pairs, it's absolutely vital that you're able to get away from top pair here. when you raise these hands you may find yourself in a situation in which the strength of your opponents hand isn't clearly defined. that's why having position (and thus, only raising these in LP) becomes important.
If you raise with KJ and flop top pair, then sure, bet at it. But once you get called, you need to take a step back and re-evaluate the hand.
ALso, when you raise with something like 99, your overpair becomes highly dangerous. there's plenty of people who smooth call raises with any pocket pair below kings, and you may find yourself on a 743 flop and up against TT-QQ. be careful.
Other than that, there's nothing wrong with showing more aggression.
1: an observant player may start to give you more action. make sure to adjust your play accordingly against these types of players.
2: you'll pick up plenty of small pots
3: it's just more fun to be involved in pots as the aggressor than as the caller.
Like i said, the key to these hands is caution. you shouldn't be raising them every time, and when you do, don't overplay them, or you'll find that allt he profit you've made from raising KQs and winning small pots will be blown on the hand when you get called by AQ and get a Q high flop and you overvalue your top pair.
