Personally, I think it's great. If nothing else, it will show people that Christianity and poker are not mutually exclusive despite recent attempts by some Christians to paint it that way.

You still can't open the Bible and point to the page where it says gambling is prohibited. It isn't in there.

I think he will be great for poker. Dr. Jerry Yang, Laotian refuge, father, charitable person. Jamie Gold was a snake oil salesman, con man, selfish, and deceitful. Cheating your own partner is lower than robbing a bank.

He ran over the final table with position bets and faced a tight, timid field. To win with such a large field, you must be incredibly lucky but you must be able to play some good poker. Stickdude has this correct. The whole final table were interesting.

1 - Why would God want him to win and not any of the other 6,000+ playing?

2 - Actually, the more I've seen Gold over the past year, my opinion of him as a person is growing although I still consider him a fish. Although I didn't see Gold calling preflop all-ins with A9o and JTo. Gold may have gotten slapped with the deck, but I have to say that at least he was ahead just about every time he put his money in.

Holy shit! Did I just defend Jamie Gold?
