Hey Brian, well I think I'm a pretty good one to answer this for you since I live in the San Diego area. I'm not really sure about the job situation, since I havent been working just going to school. I promise you will love the weather down here, it rarely drops below 50 degress in the winter, and we dont have the humidity that the east coast gets in the summer. The one downside to So. Cal is the price of living is probably a lot higher than what you are used to in New Jersey a two bedroom apartment can range anywhere from $900 in the cheap area;s to $1500 in areas like La Jolla or Del mar. Where exactly is your roomate planning on moving?? Also on the subject of no girlfriend, the amount of good looking females in SD is off the hook.

Never been to California and i don't know anything about it but..... If you have no real ties to Jersey i would say Hell Yeah!! Why Not? If you move oout there and don't like it you can always move back. At worst you get to live in a different part of the country for a year. think about all the bikini clad women!!
Vinny: Why are we stopped here? What's wrong with that spot?
Tyrone: It's too tight.
Vinny: Too tight? You could land a jumbo f*cking jet in that.

My roommate is gonna look into that. This has been his plan for so long. All he said is suburbs around San Diego. I felt that the girl situation should be helped by going over there.

My brother is thinking of getting a house in NJ with an extra bedroom to rent to me if I need it so if I go to California and its not what I want, I guess I always have a place to come back to.

How's the car insurance out there? Its like $1K a year in NJ. What about other expenses than rent?

Also, more importantly, what's the casino situation in that area?

Brian the price of everything is pretty much the same as I saw for the east coast, I have family in NY, Virginia , Maryland, and conneticut. Car insurance is pretty much the same my insuarnce is about 1k a year.

The casino situation is very nice down here, there are indian casinos and poker rooms all over the place. From where I live there are at least 8 places to play NL that are all within 40 min of my place, plus the drive to vegas is a little less than 5 hrs sometimes more like 4 depending on traffic.

If everybody was able to make a living off of their hobbies the world would be a much better place.

Kowboy, the reason that everyone moves to california?? Where I live in La Jolla it never drops below 50 degrees in the winter and rarely get over 85 during the summer, and even when it does the beach is like 10 min away. Plus the woman espcially in So. Cal are better looking than any other place I have ever been.

I have heard tons of support to move to Cali and very few detractors of all the people I've asked. This is gonna be a tough decision that and an important one.

Hey Brian,

No advice from me. I have made enough strange/lousy life choices to know better than to try to advise others on the big ones.

But good luck to you whether you choose to move or not. Let us know what you decide!
