Pushing hard w/ big PP...

Postby MVPSPORTS » Fri Jun 03, 2005 12:17 am

For whatever reason, I haven't been making a lot of money w/ AA and KK... Seems like I either pick up the blinds, or get a flop bet, and that's it... I guess I can't bitch too much, as I haven't had any cracked either...

I just wanna make sure I'm not pushing TOO hard.. nothing too exciting here, just need some reassurance...

Thanks...MVP

Seems completely fine to me. The only possible suggestion I could make is better table selection, but like you said, the more action you get the more likely it is for you to lose, be happy with what you get :)

I actuallly probably would have made it about $20 to go preflop and bet about $30 on the flop. Otherwise, I play the hand the same way.

Bri... my exact bets generally have less to do w/ the amount I actually want to bet, and how well I control that stupid little sliding scale thing... I tried to go to $21 PF, it stopped on $17, I guess that got my point across... Same for the flop bet... I usually bet close to the pot, and it was close enough for me...

I guess I'd still rather win a small pot than lose a big one... So, I'll try to stay away from TOO many maniacs...

your lack of control of the sliding bar cost you $4 on this pot and who knows how much on other pots. i suggest you use the keypad.

If you saved those $4 sliding scale errors you could go on vacation in florida :). Ah, you're there. Not much you can do with the money then...

I guess 5 hands fixing the bar = 1 lap dance... Maybe something I should consider...

I'm sure you realize this, BUT...

raising an extra 4 dollars there, even given that you had a better hand at the time, doesn't boost your EV in the hand by 4 dollars. Even if you have a 75% chance to win the hand at the time, and its guarenteed that your opponent will call no matter which of the two values you raise, it boosts your EV by $2.
