Last night I pushed on an opponent with K high in a pot he raised preflop Knowing that he didnt have the A he was repping and getting him to call when he had to be pretty certain he was behind.
After patting myself on the back for a while i realised that one reason I felt so good about it was that it has been some time since I have done this. Usaully it seems that I am trying to manoveur myself into a postion where I induce a short buyin to push and call him rather than being the aggressor.
Looking at my Went to Showdown stats seemed to confirm this because in the last 3 months since i moved to the 50$ NL tales on Prima, my rate has gone from 22% to 26.5%. while my win rate has roughly stayed the same.
I also realized that on the tables I play on at least that there are a lot less allins than ther should be . However when I was mulling this there are a few players who came to mind that I see doing this regularily over and looking at thier PT stats and replaying some of thier hands, yep, I am not doing this nearly as often as i should.
the hand above was a case in point, would I have won on the river?? Yes. Would I have more of his money in the pot?? Yes, but pushing the way I did made It look like either a steal or I had him beat but it was going to cost him to find out. and he decided to pay to find out, which is the esscence of NL.
My questiuons as a result of this are:
A: Is there a set of filters i can use on PT that will show me both my and other players allin bets,
B: Does anybody have any ideas as to the rate of allin bets they make as a % of total hands played.
Thanks for reading the ramble,
