How would you play it?

2/4 NL

I have about $400. Opponent has me covered. I have no read as I've just sat down 5 minutes ago.

I'm UTG with [Kh][Kc]. I limp. Folded to MP opponent with huge stack who riases to $12. One caller. I raise to $40. Only the MP preflop raiser calls.

FLOP $98
[2h][8c][5h]

I bet $75. Opponent calls.

TURN $248
[2h][8c][5h][7h]

I pause. hmm...flush is out. I look down and see I have the King of hearts...with means he doesn't have [Ah][Kh]. I bet $175. He calls.

RIVER $huge
[2h][8c][5h][7h][2s]

I have like $100 left, so i just move in. He calls.

Results later.

Well..What do you think?

I like it all the way down. On the river there isn't a whole lot to do, you certainly can't fold for $100 into the $600 pot with what you've got, and I'd expect you to win this hand most of the time with your opponent showing up something like JJ or QQ with a heart.

I think you beat QQ, but its also possible he had AA. I think he wouldve raised it somewhere though.

I like the way you played it.

Unfortenley he had [Ah][Jh] for the nut flush.

Is this a stack buster no matter what? Seems like you guys agree with my play.

I think against one opponent I am willing to risk a flush draw. At the end of the day you bet all the way and he had you from the turn. I think once you got down to 25% of your stack that was going in no matter what. Aside from a flush or goofy straight I see no reason to get away from this hand.

Would you have done anything different say if you still had $250 left by the river?

Wow. Did not see that coming. Yep, I'm pretty much sure that I'm gonna lose my stack on this one, every once in a while someone who is willing to call a $40 re-raise with AJ is gonna make something, and you're probly not gonna put them on it. I still like the way you played.

I swear that EVERY time theres a flush on the board the other guy has it against me. I see other guys play huge pots and disregard the 3 flush on the board and it turns out neither of them has it....and every time I do that..they have it..

Just chipping in my 2cents and I concur with everyone else here. As I read the hand I thought it was really likely he had QQ or JJ so I don't think there is much you can do. You are likely ahead and just in case you're behind you have the 2nd nut flush draw.
