Did I play too fast?

Postby AlexMR » Mon Jun 06, 2005 10:11 am

Bodog 0.25BB NL.

I was UTG and got [Qs], [Qc] . I raised to $1.50 and got 7 callers!

Flop [Qh], [9s], [8s] The pot was 10.25 and I bet 8. UTG +1 calls and every1 else fold.

Turn [9c] I had 15 left and villain had 13.5. I went all in and villain folded.

I think I should have checked but I got a little excited about having a decent. I dont think he was on AA or KK because he would have reraisede preflop.

What do u think?

Looks good to me, with the flush draw out there and the fact that a lot of people at this level play any 2 suited cards, might as well take it down as quickly as possible, pot looks like it was a pretty good size already.

Take it down? I think you want to check this. You want him to improve his hand. If he checks behind than you can make a large bet on the river. There is no reason to bet 4th street there. You have a lock on the hand unless he has 99, which case you pay him off. Oh, and you pay off 10J of spades.

flop bet is fine. definitely too much on the turn, why are you trying to lose him? give him odds to call w/ his flush draw. plus a small bet may get him pot-commited when he's drawing dead, no better place to be in poker.
