Vegas Trip

Postby JJSCOTT2 » Fri Jun 03, 2005 10:41 pm

Heading to Vegas next week, Wednesday - Sunday. I'll be staying at Excalibur, people say the rooms suck but A.) I won't be spending much time there and B.) I think the highest class place I've ever stayed is somewhere in the region of a Super 8. Anyway, I'm a first timer and wanted to know if anyone has any tips on stuff to do in Vegas, good poker games (definately gonna try out that 2-6 Spread Limit at Excalibur), etc. I can't afford hookers so that probabally won't play into the equation. Also, does anyone know of a definitive source for low stakes tournament listings, I'd love to play some small buy in tournaments maybe in the 30-60 buy in range.

Thanks,

Justin

From what Ive heard, MGM has one of the best poker rooms now for small to medium stakes. Its right across the street from Excalibur.

There are several places to get tournament listings. Here is one of them

Here's the one I used..

http://www.lasvegasvegas.com/poker/pokercalendar.php

If you wanna play 1/2 NL, I would go to Bally's... they have the most nuts there who love to throw away their money... If you want, go to the "Poker Journal" section and read Yodadude's journal... He just went to Vegas and wrote all about Ballys in it...

I will be in Vegas this week. I'll be playing downtown and at the Rio, the World Series. I will be wearing a hat that says livepokerforum.com or one that says Lucky.

There are great cheap tournaments downtown at the Golden Nugget, Binion's, and the Plaza. The World Series should have great no limit side games of 2,5 blind and larger. Maybe even 1,2 blind. There is plenty of no limit action all over town.

I have played four states since the warm weather, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico and I have beat them all. Being a gambler on the road is a wonderful, fun, stressful, and happy life.

Hey Johnny, I'll look out for you when I'm in town. Speaking of which, anyone else is going to be around town this weekend for the WS or whatever let me know if you want to meet up and play poker or get lunch or whatever.
