Early in the $10r

The reshover's really aggressive preflop. The original raiser is pretty new to the table

Unless this is some tournament with antes the size of the small blind, I think this is gigabad.

Is this still in the rebuy period? You have the short stack? If I understand ED and H2T's rebuy method, and since they seem to be the most successful that I've seen on this forum, then this is an insta-call, right?

If it's not in the rebuy period then, WTF??? Although I've been getting called a lot more often by these hands myself.

So long as MP2 doesn't have a hand and CO doesn't have a pair you have okay equity. I don't disagree with this call, as it may very well be the best spot (equity wise) you'll see before you get blinded down more. However, I feel that finding a spot where you're a 60/40 favorite to double up would be better than taking this spot to increase your stack 2.5x

I don't hate this as much as Xaston does. 400/800 is not in the rebuy period. We have M ~6 and have just taken the small blind, so no sense of urgency. I would not call here, but it is at least a close case. The 10r has a huge field and we have to get our chips from somewhere, and we might be in a close to cEV neutral spot here (or we might be in a -cEV spot, but at 2.5:1 we need 29% equity - against an overpair and AKs we have 22% if our spade outs are clean). If we are an equity favorite against 2 hands I'd be surprised. MP2 is probably going to get his chips in with whatever he has since the pot is so inviting and CO is almost all in. We shouldn't be in horrible shape though, unless of course we are up against [5c] [5h].

So you're at best neutral EV but likely negative, and you have to beat two people and if you don't you're out, and you're not desperate yet and you'll have position to do anything you want on the next hand...

and why did you call?
