10 / 20 NL on Party - I guess I should be happy.

I was really pissed about the disconnect, but then really pissed about the beat, and then happy about the disconnect. Sort of funny.

What do you think of my play?

Drogga... BB checked, then minraised, which would equal monster, but short of K9 and KK, you had the nuts there... You had to figure he had Ksomething, and lucked his way into his boat... But, then again, I guess you lucked out he disconnected... Gotta love boat over boat and all it costs you is about 1/5 of your stack...

I can't fathom that someone would play 10/20NL w/ dialup... If he's got $2700 in his Party acct., feel free to buy a freakin cable modem...

And yesterday, this happened, get 9T in the BB, couple limpers.

Flop 8QJ, rainbow. I bet 80, LP calls. Turn is a 4. I bet 200, LP raises to 500, I go all-in, he disconnects. He has QJ and I take down the pot, but I should have took his stack. There was a 3rd one yesterday too. I've had more people disconnect against my monsters in 2 days at the 10/20 than 3 months at the 5/10.

So lame - NO MORE DISCONNECT PROTECTION AT NL!

Bad Beat that cost you less. I guess that's a good thing. I'm not sure that I like your flop play because I think most good players would be able to put you squarely on 99 there. It looks like button is on AA maybe QQ and BB is on AK/KQ so I think a smooth call might be better given that 1. you have position on BB and 2. there are not that many scare cards that can hit (A-Q but a lot of those are in the hands of the two players) and 3. you might get button to come along and/or re-raise making the pot big enough for you to go allin when it comes back to you.

Also, will you ever bring this in for a small raise from UTG? I don't like limping when I'm the first one in from UTG/UTG+1 but that is probably just because of my hyper-aggressive nature to take control of the pots that I play in. What have your experiences been with limping in UTG/UTG+1? Are you profiting from them? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Party will not reimburse for disconnects. I would not play big-bet poker where a communication error might cost you a bundle. Players that abuse it should be banned for sure but I think it is a safty net - if you need one. :)
Don't lose your entire stack in an unraised pot or with only one pair.
