Bottom Set. Ugly Board. (1/2 SH)

Couple of limpers.. SB raises it up to $14. He's a multitabler and I have yet to see him get out of line this session. I decide just to flat call with position in the BB with [Tc][Ts]. Everyone else folds. He has a little less than $200. I cover.

FLOP $34
[Th][Kh][Js]

He bets $25. I decide just to flat call and see what the turn brings. I think his range will hit that flop big, but I want to see if the turn is gonna kill me via some combo draw. (AK, KQ, QQ etc.) Flawed thinking or gooot?

TURN $84
[Th][Kh][Js] [9d]

Shoot me now please. He leads $35. Kinda weakish but I'm not sure how to react. I call.

RIVER $154
[Th][Kh][Js] [9d] [8d]

He checks with $111 left. I decide to value bet $50.

Comments on all streets welcome.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

I don't mind the flop call, but I'm not so sure about the river bet.

Seems to me like you fold only something like AK but KK, JJ and any Q call. I think even KJ should probably lay down.

I think you win it at showdown sometimes, maybe more than 50% (he really doesn't look too much like a Q here for my taste), but I think the only times he calls the river are when you're beat.

I think it might be worth considering putting him in on the turn. At least you have outs against the straight and some kind of nut flush draw might also call. But you also run into the same hands that give you river problems, and I seriously doubt that any of those fold. So your line is probably better in actuality.

"#3 pencils and quadrille pads."

"Interesting - I use a Mac to help me design the next Cray."

Xaston, if the turn came [8h] and villain bet $55, you'd put him in right?
