Way too weak tight right?

Postby greggabe » Fri Jun 10, 2005 12:44 am

I was getting ready to get up from the table at the end of the orbit and was up a couple buy ins. When I got QQ i had weak thoughts right away. I didn't want to give a buy in back right before getting up and was gonna play it strong but safe. But after looking at it again I think I either had to bet more on the flop or had to bet the turn and fold to a raise or react to what he does on the river. What do you think?

I say bet around $14 on the flop...then give it up like you did.

Looks pretty standard to me. I might fire again since he might call that flop with a flush draw and you can check behind on the river if the flush doesnt hit....but most times I would just give up.

The reason why I didn't bet more on the flop is b/c 2/3rds pot bet is pretty standard for me. I do mix it up but I like to keep it around 2/3rds so when I am making my continuation bets I don't have to bet the pot or close to it every time. This way if I bet 2/3rds with a continuation and 2/3rd when the flop hits me it makes it hard for anyone to get a read. Do you guys agree with this strategy? How much is your normal continuaton bet? Should I be betting closer to the pot more often?
