Limp re-raise with KK

Postby Alchemist » Sat Jun 11, 2005 9:50 am

My first winning limp reraise happened today. I have tried this before a handful of times, but this the first time I was able to raise back. MP2 and MP3 were both very loose each with PFR of around 15 so I knew I was going to get a raise from someone.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (10 handed)

BB ($22.65)
UTG ($21.30)
Hero ($22)
UTG+2 ($16.65)
MP1 ($24.25)
MP2 ($22.15)
MP3 ($13.55)
CO ($11.30)
Button ($39.35)
SB ($10.40)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Kc], [Ks].
1 fold, Hero calls $0.25, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.25, MP2 raises to $0.5, MP3 calls $0.50, 3 folds, BB calls $0.25, Hero raises to $4, MP1 folds, MP2 calls $3.50, MP3 folds, BB folds.

Flop: ($9.35) [9s], [Jd], [6c] (2 players)
Hero bets $8, MP2 goes all-in for $18.15, Hero calls all-in for $10.

Turn: ($43.10) [Tc] (2 players)

River: ($43.10) [7c] (2 players)

Final Pot: $43.10

Results in white below:
Hero has Kc Ks (one pair, kings).
MP2 has Ad Jc (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins $43.10.

Got a lot of 'nh' and 'np' from the table from this one which made me feel good. Had a chuckle at the guy who tried it about 10 hands later with the same hand after both LAGs had left the table.

Gotta love the limp reraise, cause they NEVER see it coming... Everytime I've done it and it got raised, especially live, they look at me like "F*** no, you're not gonna bluff me off this hand now..." Like I'm offending them as a man... It's great when they flip over their A10, and I have Aces... :D Shuts em up pretty quick...

Good job.

When I limp reraised KK live, the guy that raised just looked at me and said "that's a monster" and folds. It was and I win a nice pot uncontested. It pays to have some table respect.
