Personally, I'd fire $1.50 or so on the turn and take the free showdown (or fold if he check-raises). The problem with checking behind on the turn when the scare card hits is that you're practically begging to be bluffed out of the pot.

Now, if you're going to feel obligated to call a turn check-raise for some reason, then checking behind would be better.

I checked behind because of the read on my opponent. He was very loose and the type to chase draws. Knowing that, and the possibility that I still had his Jacks beat if that's what he really had, I was willing to give a free card to re-evaluate on the river. Is that flawed logic?

you should write your reads on the opponent next to the hand you're posting...

I don't see any reason to put any more money in after the flop bet. By the river you can't beat anything, every draw got there and if he had TP he now has trips. Checking behind on the turn is definetely the way I would play it, and possibly call the river bet those times it isn't a second Jack.
