NL100 - AQ miniraiseaments

Postby RedBarracuda » Thu Sep 27, 2007 10:42 am

Villain is 40/10 / 4.33 / 20% / 17% over 100 hands., so he's bad loose aggressive I guess and most of his winnings (if any) come from his aggression alone..

Pacific Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.5/$1
5 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $135.23
SuperHero: $132.48
Button: $114.08
SB: $57.57
BB: $44.73

Pre-flop: (5 players) SuperHero is CO with [As] [Qs]
UTG raises to $4, SuperHero raises to $13, 3 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: [Qd] [2h] [Td] ($27.5, 2 players)
UTG bets $12, SuperHero raises to $24, UTG raises to $36, SuperHero calls.

Turn: [Jd] ($99.5, 2 players)
UTG bets $86.23, SuperHero ??

So, I 3bet the guy properly PF and he comes along and fires into me less then PSB on a favorable flop for me. i think he's the bullying type. What do I do? I miniraise to see what's going on because he's the type who wants to win every pot I guess. So he minreraises me and I call thinking he might have something here. I don't believe it's a flush draw and I don't believe it's AK for a gutty cause he wouldn't bet/reraise on it. His AA or KK wouldn't lead into me on flop I think. Then I start thinking his minireraise actually showed that he is weak and doesn't have much of a hand. My plan is to get it in on the turn. Turn comes and bam, he's all in and now I have a decision. Why would he do this? Does he have a made hand that wants a big call now or does he have a crap hand not wanting a call at all? Tic-Tac.. Do I call?

I would have flat called the flop, especially against someone who is going to bluff off chips at < 1/2 PSB per street. Min-raising with TPTK doesn't seem prudent, like, ever. I want to exercise some kind of pot control here. Unless you really wanted to play this hand for stacks, in which case the min-raise was a bad idea. Min-raising with air on a dry board is tite. Min-raising with TPTK on a drawy type board is not.

you should either flat-call PF or flat-call the flop.

as played you should fold this turn.

I would have folded, and I would still have had all the villain's chips after 400 hands at the worst. I don't have the stomach for coinflipaments against bad players.
