Comments please on this hand?.

Player 1 in SB, Likes to raise 4*BB quite a bit, followed by a Half bet pot after Flop. Not much to go on after Turn.
Player 4 on button - Me !
Stack sizes are 45 to my 33.

Player 3 calls BB UTG , I call BB (I have ) , SB (Player 1) raises to 1.00
Player 2 in BB folds, 2 callers.
Pot is 3.25
Flop comes

Player 1 bets 2.00 (I'm not surprised), player 3 folds, I re-raise to 5.75 (the Pot), Player 1 goes All-in. I'm surprised by this much aggression, and actually put him on a set or Flush draw. After a pause, I call with top 2 pair.

I reckon he overbet this one, I was on the button, so figured if the flop came to nowt, I'd fold. Bet if something did drop, I could make something out of it. (Normally I would fold J9).
I hesitated calling because of his aggression, but figured that I shouldn't be playing Poker if I considered folding Top 2 pair after Flop !!

What do you think?

reraising pot means raising to 2+ 3.25 + 2 (because he already put in 2$ and only has to call 3.25 if you raise to 5.xx) so a fd can instacall your raise and be fine

well what about a straight/moster draw? i'd call too without a read

Raise preflop. Limping on the button blows.

Make a much bigger flop raise. The board rarely comes more drawy than this.

Post up a proper hand history with stacks, position, etc.

TBH I think your mentality of "limp in, bet if something comes up, make something of nothing, fold if it doesn't" is a pretty weak outlook on poker. You don't want to be limping in lots, picking up small pots, having to make awkward decisions because you limped along with 725092 other players and having no clue where you're at.

Raise when in position. Play your good hands agressively. Make things easier for yourself by playing tight, decisive and agressive poker when in position. ABC.

Don't mean for this to come out harsh by the way.
