Too obviously a draw?

Postby geewhiz » Mon Jun 13, 2005 9:31 pm

Bodog $1-2 NL

Villian has $200 - I have him covered. He is a regular, but just an average player.

I have [9h][Th] in the BB

Villian (UTG) raises to 6.50

Button calls, I call. Pot $20.

Flop: [7h][9c][Ah]

I check, Villian bets $16, button folds, I push.

Too big of an overbet here? Is it too obviously a draw. I didn't want to check raise a smaller amount and then if the turn blanks be put to the test.

I guess I could have bet out, and then when raised, push.

He thought for a while, then called with................KK !!!!
saying "you were obviously on a draw"

My play too obvious? Basically I figure its a coinflip, so any % he'll fold we'll give me a +EV.

Actually, unless he has the [Kh] you're slightly ahead. But yeah, I guess that your move is a bit obvious.
