The number of semi-interested (semi-clueless) players who come to the tables in whole or in part thanks to the dodgy editting of WSOP broadcasts that show Hansen pushing all in with 56s and Cardplayer articles about Negreanu winning $1,907,843.91 in some tourney.

On the other hand, the only reason I'd ever want a copy of Shulman's piece of shit book is if I had a very wobbly table. Well, probably not even then... as I imagine it'll be approximately the width of tightwad's near-microscopic manhood, you'd probably only satiate any desires of non-table-wobbliness with Shulman's work if you live in a dollhouse.

Try not to focus on tip #2 too much right now. Playing the nuts on the river is an EXTREMELY advanced concept, and neophytes like yourself are advised to exercise caution until you develop at least another 15-20 years of experience.

Tip #5: "Quads" is defined as two pair, where both pair are the same denomination. It's a fairly strong hand that you're encouraged to usually go to the showdown with. After playing tens of thousands of hands, I will share with you my current data on the quads issue. (1) Pocket pairs 66 and higher are exponetially more likely to hit quads than pairs 22-44. I'm not sure what the particular exponent is, but whatever. 55 does not, in fact, ever hit quads...but it hits a lot more "sets" than other pocket pairs. Now, if you're starting with 2 unpaired cards, I have mathematical PROOF that your odds of hitting quads are about 7.36:1. Even though it doesn't actually happen nearly that often, I'm dead certain my math is right on this one.

It's a tempting play to try and pull, and I've tried many times. What I've learned is this: most of the fish present at the 2000/4000 games I usually play simply WILL NOT give you credit for 5 of a kind. Better to wait until you have the goods and then punish them.
