I love that this topic has come up, but I am fearful. This is simply too large for this post.

What about spliting this into two different posts:

1) Science--its values and foibles and

2) Religion its values and foibles.


This topic is HUGE and we run the risk of getting derailed switching from one to the other.

I think you either have a scientific discussion or a religious one. Not both.
