AA...comments please?

Postby RoCKo » Tue Jun 21, 2005 10:12 am

Ok, this is not a bad beat post. I am doing just fine with my pocket aces overall. Just wondering if I should have slowed down after the turn. I think if I would have checked, he would be all in on the river and I would have prob called anyway. Can I lay this down and save myself $5? I think Ive only layed down AA once in my life and I know that I have to learn this, but at this level, the morons will call with anything. (sniff... and right in front of my buddy M3Trader)

Only thing I can think of is a bigger flop bet?

Any suggestions?

This guy seemed pretty determined to play his KJ, he got lucky and I'm not sure there is any way to put him on a hand when he is just calling. I think I would've done the same thing in your situation.

It was actually a 10x BB raise preflop, not 5x. It happens and I play it the same. However, after that turn, I expect to lose a decent amount of the time because the board is scary but you can't fold it for the size of the pot.

It's actually fairly confusing as to whether this is a 5xBB or 10xBB raise because at the top of the hand history it says .10/.20 NL, but then it says "posts BB of .10", I don't think it can make up its mind.
