+ $15,000

Spend the early part of the year trying to get my head around 6 max and Cardrunners.

Spent 3 months short-stacking in the middle at a solid 2PTBB/100 over 50k+ hands.

Feel like I'm finally getting a handle on 6 max in the last month or so.

Also played a few thousand hands of HU in Nov./Dec. and lost maybe $500 (learnt a lot about HU play though).

Played maybe 4 donkaments a week with more or less breakeven results (probably slightly up but not worth the time spent).

Next year intend to concentrate on the 6 max game and settle at the $200 tables (I played up to $400 when short but haven't really moved up to $200 full stacked yet).

PLO is stalled through lack of time unfortunately.

2007 was a very mixed bag for me. I finally started to beat 0.5/1NL 6max consistently though not brilliantly (3ptbb), though running well below EV throughout which is a major disadvantage to only playing 10-12k hands/month.

Summertime was pretty bad for me - I basically broke even for several months, which for some reason seems to be standard for me at that time of year, probably because most of the casual donks are casually donking around outside rather than indoors.

Slowly grew the BR to 8K and was dithering over what to do next, when I saw myself referred to as one of the the few decent regulars at 0.5/1 iPoker in a couple of posts on other fourms (they must've been drunk) and thought "Fuck it, I'll take some shots at 1/2".

Amazingly I didn't run horribly and have stuck it out there since, at iPoker (2.5ptbb) and Cake (5ptbb), though it's a small sample and I recognise I've an awful of work to do on my game (12er, answer your IMs please - who said you could go to sleep?)

BR is now > 10K and I'm withdrawing the overspill each month. First present to self will be a new DSLR camera.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

2007 = make about $10k in the first 4 months of the year and then lose about $2k over the summer, then quit playing because games are hard and poker doesn't make me happy anymore.

as far as the rest of life besides poker....i'm tearing it up.

Total of the year was $57,294.21 before rakeback add another 5.5k on for that.

broken down
cash games - +27,942
tournys - +25,799
live - +3,533.

Breaking it down a little more in cash games a majority of my play was at 2/4 where I ran white hot for my first 40k hands and breakeven over my next 40k. There is also 50k hands of 1/2 in there and prolly 20k hands of other nl hands as well as some razz and triple draw.

in tournies I had 35 final tables on the year. 5 wins, 5 2nds, and 4 3rds. I also had final table bubbles of a pot limit holdem FTOPS event, the triple draw WCOOP event and the Sunday Million a little over a month ago.

All in all a very respectable year, and as far as 08 I am thinking $75-$80k is my target.
