... about economics, that I didn't know before ... about the current bank problems in the US. Good stuff, very clear and easy to understand even for someone like me with very little background.

He didn't say he knew for sure. That's absolutely not the point. But it gives some things to look for, a framework within which to see what the Fed and other government agencies are doing in response to the crisis / crises ...

And I agree, economists' predictions tend to suck w/r/t where the economy is going.

What does it tell us to look for though? If he doesnt know for sure if inflation is coming or not, and you agree that economists who study all of this crap and have seen all of these trends in the past still cant predict what the results of these trends will be, then its all just a bunch of mumbo jumbo.
