Flopped the nuts against a donk

Postby iceman5 » Sun Jan 06, 2008 1:03 pm

$100 NL 6 max.....

Earlier hands:

#1) A guy raises I called with AQ and villain called also.
Flop Qxx..Villain leads full pot...preflop raiser calls..I shove in. Its about $30 more to short stacked villain who calls with QJ which is exactly what I thought he had. He rivers a J.

#2) I raise with TT. Villain call as does another guy.
Flop Kxx..Villain leads full pot and gets called. I fold. Villain had AK.

OK, so heres the hand:

I raise to $3.50 with [Qs][Js]. Same villain calls as does another guy.
Pot $11 Flop [Ts][9h][8s]. He leads full pot. I have about $120 more and he covers (with my money which I want back). How do you play it?

In memory of all donks of the world I min raised him to $22. He instacalled.

Pot $33. Turn was the [8c]. He check / called my $26.
Pot $85. River [9c]. So the final board is a disgusting [Ts][9h][8s][8c][9c]. He checked. Anyone try to squeeze out more value here? I have $70 or so left.

The way you played I think I just check, the best you can do is bet half your stack and have to call a poosh which sucks, and a quarter stack is just too little. I don't usually start looking for value on double paired boards with straights.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.
