Cliffs notes of the interview
Hand 1:
Joe opens raises from the button with a stack of 20BB's. Ike who has Joe covered shoves AT, Joe opened with KK calls and doubles up. Ike points out that he has a ton of equity fold equity and if he gets called by anything other than AA he has 30% or better chance to suck out. Ike dances around the math a little in the interview. Joe repeats about 5 times he is not a math player and cant comment on the math. Ike says its a +ev play so it is the only correct play. Joe points out over and over that he only gets called by a better hand which Ike agrees with.
Hand 2:
Next hand Joe opens on the CO with 99, Ike who is now the SB shoves KJ. Joe takes a while and ends up calling.
Ike really came across as really arrogant I thought, at one point he says that almost all live players suck. Joe did a little dance to point out that he didnt say that all online player suck. It really amazes me that someone with as much success and as intelligent as Joe has no idea of the the math of the situation. Just saying I am not a math player is completely ignoring a major part of tournament play. Why ignore things that can help you make better decisions, I guess even big names have holes in their games.
