Surgery...sucks :(

Postby kennyg » Tue Jun 28, 2005 12:53 am

Wish me luck guys. Getting all 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed tommorow morning. Doctor said there's a 5% chance I will lose the feeling in the bottom lip and tongue. I wouldn't be too worried about it...but i've lost to a lot of 2 outers lately..about the same odds :)

I'm supposed to be out of commision for about a week..but hopefully I won't be so bad I can't make a couple of posts.

But just in case; Have a great week guys!

God I hate surgery in your mouth. I had my tonsels taken out... ended up scratching the scab off with an oreo. Yeah, so don't eat oreos a day after the surgery, or you'll find yourself in a world of pain.

Good luck though.

Honestly, I dont remember being in much pain at all. All I remember was that I was uncomfortable having a mouth full of gauze for a while and that I kept getting food stuck in the holes where the teeth used to be.

Good luck on the second go, at least you know what to expect. Tell them to knock you out better the next time :). Recovering from surgery should be the ideal time to play poker, for me at least because I wouldn't have to go to work. But since you play poker for a living I guess it's work :)

Rhound, what kind of knee surgery did you have? I messed up my ACL last fall playing soccer, and I might have a surgery to fix it this fall. Hard to decide though, because it only bothers me when I play sports more seriously.

Good luck kenny

Poker, I had two arthroscopic prodeduces on my left knee. My first was from doing squats in weights in high school. I tore and displaced cartalige and partially tore my Medial Collateral liagement, thankfull not enough to need ligament replacement. The second time was snowboarding and I hyperextended my knee tearing caratlidge again, plus casusing a cist to grow on the outside of the knee joint. My knee will never be the same I'm sorry to say, it still swells when I do anything that involves high impact, basketball, hiking, baseball, etc....

Can they do that surgery with lasers? Just wondering I've heard laser dentristy in general is way less painful.
