Absolute Craziness! Pt. 2

Postby Atorvastatin » Tue Jun 28, 2005 7:19 pm

Here is another one a few hands later that left me wondering why I even play! Please critique, criticize, or commend my play. I think I played this hand well, particularly my turn bet, knowing he had a big pair or overcards, so please advise me if you feel differently.

Agan, I apologize but Hand Converter doesn't support Absolute NL.

Wow, did Kawiki play this hand absolutely horribly. This guy needs to go on your fish list. Unfortunately, I don't really like your play either. Getting allin on that turn with just bottom 2 pair when theres a 4-card straight out and reasonable better 2 pairs or sets? Only reasonable holding you beat is a semibluff -- luckily thats all he had, but made it anyway.

Doyle Brunson once wrote that he has never lost more money with any other hand than bottom two pair.

Bottom two pair, especially when the board shows a potential straight, is not a strong enough hand to push all in. When i flop bottom two pair, I hear a little voice in my head saying, "keep pot small... don't go broke here"

I think you guys are missing my point, except Alex. I KNEW, well according to my read, that this guy either had an overpair, or two high cards. I gave him about 5% chance of having a 9. Can you still tell me that a big bet on the turn, representing I'm the one having the straight, is the incorrect play to his two overcards?
