Oop vs aggressive. How much do I like this flop? (PLO8 $50)

Postby MTPaid » Fri Feb 01, 2008 6:00 pm

This guy had been very aggressive and bullying a bit. Is it wrong to think there is a good chance that this flop missed him and even if wrong I have the nut flush draw + the 2nd nut backdoor low? What do we do on this flop?

$0.25/$0.5 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo
9 players
Converted at

Stacks:
UTG ($11.05)
UTG+1 ($49.50)
Hero ($23.15)
MP2 ($62.70)
MP3 ($48.90)
CO ($12.65)
BTN ($5.10)
SB ($19.10)
BB ($22.85)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 9 players) Hero is MP1 [Ac][9c][3s][3c]
2 folds, Hero calls $0.5 ($22.65), MP2 raises to $2.25 ($60.45), 5 folds, Hero calls $1.75 ($20.90)

Flop: [Kc][Tc][7h] ($5.25, 2 players)
Hero checks ($20.90), MP2 bets $5.25 ($55.20), Hero ???

Ignore the backdoor low, but you dont' need a ton of FE to make a play at this here. Problem with that is when you miss the turn and have to check/blocking bet him. You may be in this for the whole ride, so if you can handle that then take a stab at it.

I would have folded this preflop as well. It is not a solid hand by any stretch, nor is any other ace with a small pair hand. Your low has no counterfeit protection and if you flop a set you have no shot at low.

I recommend folding preflop to the raise. I even do not like limping in early position with this hand as you play with only 1/2 stack. There are just not enough implied odds because you will not flop a strong hand often enough.

On the flop folding looks best. Villain is almost pot committed. If you push he needs only 25% equity to call profitably. Therefore I doubt you will get a fold from villain frequently. Also your hand is not that strong , you have only 50% equity vs a random hand.

Results: I c/r all-in. He has A3TT w/ 3 hearts. Conveniently like the worst or 2nd worst hand he could probably have for me. Black Q then J on the turn and river. Right color, wrong suit.

you can't lament the times a lagtard hits his hands. if he's giving you lots of action, the "price" you pay is giving him action when he hits big.

right move, unfortunate result.

i [h] bank rolls.
