Ipods (and all electronics) are usually way more expensive in Europe. Think its to do with their taxes.

It's part of an EU mandate pushed by the Germans -- Euro Ipods must come preloaded with David Hasselhoff.

FTP did not have a European distributor for certain items until recently, due to higher taxes etc.

The higher price is a tradeoff. Now the products ARE available, but for more points.
