I love playing tournaments. This story happened during my last one.
It's early on in the tourney. I'm at a table with 6 zombies and 3 other players. Zombies, of course, being folks who've registered but for some reason didn't show up. Check-and-fold is all they do.
Anyway, I'm chip leader at the table with one other guy really close. I tangled with him in a hand and he completely sucked out. I had 2 pair on the flop and there was zero possibility for a straight or flush draw. I bet pot at it and my nemesis called.
Turn brought a card that might help with a straight. I bet out again. Nemesis called.
River brought his straight. Runner-runner-straight. ARGH!

Now he's the chip leader at the table, but I've got him pegged as a target.
As more hands are played, I watch him closely. He's sucking out a LOT - making big hands on the river when he hasn't the odds to be making the calls. He's also begun to push people off hands with his stack. Loose/aggressive...
A bit later another hand comes by that I'm heads-up with my target. Again I have 2 pair. Again he calls and calls and calls (though I'm not betting all that big - I'd rather stay in the tourney than get busted by a lucky maniac). The result of that hand though was that I was the chip leader on the table again.
Next hand comes, I have Ax suited ([c]) in one of the blinds (don't remember which). 2 limpers to me, including my nemesis, and I'm in. The flop comes down all

First to act, I bet minimum. I did this for several reasons. First, I wanted to show that I'm not afraid of the flush, and maybe make the bet look like a steal attempt. Second, I knew my nemesis would call, unless he had absolutely nothing. If he had nothing, I'm not going to be taking his stack on the river, either. Third, I figured it's somewhat a value bet if anyone else chooses to stay in. Fourth, if someone had two pair, I wanted them to pay at least something to draw.
Only my nemesis called.
The turn brought another

I couldn't have been happier when he pushed all-in. I had him covered, just barely.
When I called, he showed K[c] + rag. Bully for him and thanks for playing. By the time I typed "bye." into the chat, I had the chips in my stack.
He didn't rebuy.
OK... this was supposed to make me feel better about today's serial suckout poker I suffered through... but it didn't. Time to go eat some barely cooked cow...
