I was never really thinking of raising the 2nd hand. Anyway, the shocker is, that both times the boards came fairly low, both times an Ace on the board as well.
Hand 1:
Hand 1 (6-handed)
SB

[Qh][Ah][Ts]
UTG raises, 1 fold, CO calls $4, BTN calls $4, Hero calls, BB calls (5-way flop)
Board:

[Ad][6d][Qd][8d]
UTG raised with
![The Ace of Clubs [Ac]](https://pofex.com/images/smilies/Ac.gif)
[Tc][6s][Ks] and surely that flop isn't going to persuade him that he did anything wrong.
CO had

[3d][7d][7c]
BB also went to showdown with

[Th][4d][3h]
Hand 2 (5-handed)
SB
![The Queen of Spades [Qs]](https://pofex.com/images/smilies/Qs.gif)
[Tc][9h][Jd]
UTG raises, CO calls $4, BTN calls $4, Hero calls, BB calls (5-way flop)
Board:

[8h][9s][Ad][6c]
UTG raised with
![The Six of Spades [6s]](https://pofex.com/images/smilies/6s.gif)
[2s][Ac][5d] - not too bad
BB went to showdown with
![The Seven of Hearts [7h]](https://pofex.com/images/smilies/7h.gif)
[7d][Qd][8d]
I ended up getting taken along for the ride.
The point is, on both boards there was a combined total of 1 broadway card on the board. So I was wondering if my preflop thought process was flawed. I guess this assumption can only be made when your in games where your fairly certain your opponents are somewhat competent.
